Lansdowne Music Program's Schedule
With over 350 students involved involved in 14 different groups, and many of our students choosing to do more than one music group, keeping track of which group rehearses when can be a challenge. Below is a list of all of the rehearsal times for a full week. Please note that some weeks may have changes to them because of Pro-D days, holidays or special circumstances. We will let students know and communicate any major changes with families via e-mail.
Music Practice Cards
All instrumental music students whether they are in band or strings are expected to practice their music 120 minutes each week. These 120 minutes are combined minutes between whichever ensembles they have joined (we do NOT expect 120 minutes per ensemble). The practice each week is written down on a Lansdowne Music Practice Card and turned in at the first rehearsal of each week (band or strings).
To fully participate in events in the music program and to grow in the way we hope our students to grow, this level of practice is expected. There may be weeks with a little more or a little less, but the goal for each week is 120 minutes. When musicians practice at this level, the music and growth they can expect is amazing; the sound and development at a seemingly young age sets our students apart!
Please see the practice card here as to what one should look like.
PARENTS, WE ASK YOU TO SIGN YOUR STUDENT'S PRACTICE CARDS EACH WEEK. Please take a moment and talk with your musician about what they are working on and send the card along with them and the beginning of each week.
Choir Recording Tracks
A new aspect to our choir world this year will be including ways to use recordings to move forward. Practice tracks will be posted on this website and students will be asked periodically to record themselves to turn in to Mr. G. More information will be coming home soon so keep eyes and ears open for upcoming info!
